Faculty Opportunities for Professional Development at the Rice Global Paris Center
Teach a course, host a conference, or complete a short-term residency at the Paris Center
Teach a Course
Choose the format that fits your course and schedule. There are two ways to teach in Paris:
Summer Session (3 weeks)
A focused, three-week course designed for immersive, short-format courses that make the most of Paris as a living classroom.
Fall Semester (full term)
A full-semester residency that supports sustained teaching, deeper partnerships, and longer-running projects in Paris.
Rice faculty may apply for one or both options.

Research Residencies: Live and Work in Paris
Our Paris Center Research Residencies allow Rice faculty to use the Paris Center as a hub for their work for periods ranging from one week to a full semester. Participants will have access to basic office space at the Paris Center, along with the option of subsidized housing in a studio apartment, subject to availability and timing. While travel and living expenses are not covered, the program supports a range of research-driven activities, including primary source research in French archives and libraries, site visits and collaborative work with French colleagues, and strategic meetings aimed at strengthening institutional research partnerships.
