In 2020, Rice University and the India Institute of Technology Kanpur launched a joint Rice - IITK center, on the Kanpur campus. This innovative Center will foster a thriving research environment for the development of long-term solutions to meet the ever-increasing global energy demand. As both Rice and IITK are at the forefront of cutting-edge research in energy solutions, this joint Research Center is expected to facilitate deeper levels of collaborations, exchange of knowledge and perspectives, between the faculty and students of both institutions and beyond. In addition to the Rice-IITK Center, Rice University is actively pursuing partnerships with other top-ranked institutions across India.
