Paris Center *Faculty Conferences and Research Meetings* Proposals:
Vice President for Global invites Rice University faculty, departments, and schools to share potential projects for the newly launched Rice Global Paris Center. We welcome ideas that further research collaborations, convene international workshops and conferences, and solidify partnerships in Europe. A description of Summer 2023 activities can be found here.

Instructions:
Submit your proposals to ParisCenter@Rice.edu, and include:

  • Completed short proposal template
  • A letter of support from your department chair or dean

Timeline:
Proposal deadlines: The second round of proposals will open in August with a deadline of September 15, 2023 for additional Spring and Summer 2024 projects

Decisions will be made by the faculty Global Education Advisory Committee in October.

The Rice Global Paris Center will host the majority of projects and convenings; however if the number of participants is large or requires an auditorium space, your project may use a number of nearby partner spaces in and around the Marais.

Contact ParisCenter@rice.edu for questions or assistance with your submissions.

Paris Center *Course* Proposals:
Vice President for Global invites Rice University faculty to submit proposals for courses at the Rice Global Paris Center in the spring or summer of 2024. Courses can be new (pending the required approvals) or previously taught, and should offer compelling reasons for taking place in Paris or for taking place during the 2024 Olympics in Paris (July 26, 2024 - August 11, 2024).

Rice Global Paris Center Support:
The Rice Global Paris center will provide all logistical and administrative support for hosting courses in Paris, preparing students for departure, and providing safe accommodation while in Paris. Faculty teaching courses will receive a summer salary supplement and travel stipend, and tuition will be collected by RGP and used to cover course costs.

Information about course dates:
We are accepting proposals for the following timeframe, but we welcome ideas for short courses or intensives during the fall:

  • Spring Break 2024: Proposals for a weeklong immersive experience that is part of an already existing spring semester course during Rice university's spring break (March 9 - 17, 2024).
  • Summer 2024: Proposals should be for short courses or intensives during the summer of 2024 - see proposal template for session dates.
