Rice Global India Faculty Impact Multiplier

Faculty Impact Multiplier

At-a-Glance

Objective: To grow Rice University’s brand recognition and build student pipelines. To broaden and deepen Rice Faculty research presence in India.
Resources: Staff coordination for RGI initiated activities, and in-country travel funding for strategic collaboration meetings.
Deadline: Applications accepted on a rolling basis at least one month prior to travel.
Eligibility: Full-time tenure and tenure-track faculty members at Rice.

Purpose

Rice Global India will work with faculty already traveling to India to add additional meetings, info sessions, seminars and other networking events to their itinerary to multiply the impact of their presence.

Visiting Rice faculty will be asked to share insights into the university’s research, academic opportunities, and graduate outcomes. These interactions not only showcase Rice’s commitment to addressing global challenges but also provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how Rice’s programs can prepare them for leadership roles in their fields. By creating opportunities for dialogue and mentorship, the program inspires students to consider Rice as their destination for advanced education. This initiative not only enhances collaboration with India’s academic institutions but also establishes a strong pipeline of motivated and skilled candidates for Rice graduate programs.

Rice Global India will support additional in-country travel to seek out and build new research collaboration opportunities.

The program also provides support to faculty by facilitating connections with relevant institutions, industry, and partners.
